Capture the Moments

Here's some of my latest scrapbooking pages. I'm please with how they turned out. I like the color combo and how the stamps work with the designer paper. I really need to figure out a better way to photograph them so they turn out better. I tried in natural sunlight, but that caused a glare--too much direct sunlight.

These are pics from Memorial Day, and is designed to be a 2-pg layout. The patterned paper is from Hobby Lobby, as is the spiral ring; ribbon for flower stem and also along the bottom of page 1 is Michael's, and chipboard bracket is from Jo-anns. I tried the paper-piercing technique on the bottom of page 2--it's hard to see it. I got the paper-piercing kit from Stampin' Up, but didn't realize that it didn't come with the poker thing, so I used my craft knife. It worked well enough, but I bought the real deal last week from Joanns. I checked the stampin up catty, and I didn't want to buy the whole crafter's took kit, since I didn't need any of the other tools. Anyway, back to the page: I connected the paper piercings with a white gel pen (again, not stampin up. I'm going to buy stampin' up's gel pen since I've heard it works way better. the pen I used is kinda like paint, and is much lighter than I expected. I drew over the dots 2x. For my title and some journaling, I used the Whimsical upper alpha and rough edges alpha from stampin up, and also used phrases from the hostess set, So Many Sayings, finished off with all in a row. I also used Pick a Petal for flower stamps and Looks Like Spring with coordinating punch. I also accessorised with several eye-lets, set with my new Crop-a-Dile. I should've stated first off what I did to the background of my Gable Green 12x12 cardstock. On page one, by the title, i stamped the swirly from Baroque Motif. On the second one, I rolled Doodles jumbo wheel all over in versamark. It didn't show up as much as I thought it would, so then I clear glitter embossed it. A little trickier than I thought to do a whole sheet!! Do you think it didn't show up as much as I thought because I need more ink in my versamark jumbo cartridge? I decided to buy a blank cartridge and fill it myself because I already had an ink refill. last detail: on page 2 I trimmed the photos with the ticket punch.

On a personal note, I went jogging this morning. It's been cooler, stormy--windy and rainy the past 2 days, and the waves were huge--see picture. Today was much calmer and I got to see a partial rainbow over the Muskegon Lighthouse! Then when I turned around, I saw another rainbow over the Lake! I was reminded of God's promise when He gave the first rainbow: to never flood & destroy the whole earth again. Whenever I see a rainbow, I know that I serve a God who is faithful to always keep His promises--like to never leave me; to provide for all my needs; to love me with an everlasting love; to always forgive when I come to Him in repentance. My God is Big. My God is Good. Always. Forever. He is eternal. He is my Father.
